Pursue Yourself

“If you don’t know what to pursue in life right now, pursue yourself. Pursue becoming the healthiest, happiest, most healed, most present, most confident version of yourself. Then the right path will reveal itself.” ~Power of Positivity

I posted this quote in our La Colectiva newsletter this past week, and the response was wonderful! It was re-posted to instagram and I received personal messages about how the quote impacted our readers.

It inspired me to dig deeper into my ideas on life; its possibilities, of manifestation and the power of what we pursue.

When we learn to manifest, not things outside of ourselves, but those things that make us the best version of ourselves, we will watch the world unfold around us in the most fascinating ways. When you are healthy, happy and healing, you can see with more clarity that which may already be right in front of you.

We focus all too often on external circumstances. We may look at work and feel unsatisfied. Or get bogged down by our daily routine, household responsibilities, and those things (like doing the dishes) that will never go away. We may even be looking at our relationships, friendships, romantic relationships and familiar, and feel like things aren’t aligned. This can leave us in a place of feeling disconnected, not quite satisfied and possibly unsure if we are on the right path.

So instead of looking at the external things, let’s take the looking glass and turn it inward. I don’t know about you, but when I do, it sometimes surprises me! I know I’ve done a lot of work in my life to be healthy, happy, healing, present, and confident. That’s all well and good, but this journey isn’t done in a single step, and then we can walk on. We carry this work with us as a daily practice.

When you feel a bit lost, rather than looking for something outside of yourself (a new job, new house, city, country, partner, car, pair of shoes, etc…) look inward instead.

  • Are you drinking enough water?

  • Are you getting enough sleep?

  • What are you doing that is just for you? Painting, dancing, playing guitar, reading a great book…

  • Surround yourself with people that support you and motivate you to be your best self.

  • Say no to energy drainers.

  • Write in your journal.

  • Do deeper healing work when needed. See a therapist. Take time with an energy worker.

  • What are you eating? Healthy, natural foods?

  • Are you moving your body?

  • When you look in the mirror, do you speak with compassion to yourself or with negative self talk? Can you see yourself with confidence and love?

Focusing your energy on yourself is not being selfish. Focusing on happiness, health and wholeness makes you the best version of you. Life opens up and you find yourself in a state of flow. Your family becomes healthier, your friendships, and community.

If we all spent more time pursing ourselves, and treating each other with mutual respect, this world would be a very different place.

It starts with you.
